Succulent living wall set into a dark brick facade

The Project

Architecture that grows — a tapestry set in brick.

The dark brick facade of this Brentwood residence gave us the rarest thing in landscape work: a perfect frame. Into it we set panelized living-wall modules planted as a tapestry — echeveria rosettes, blushing heuchera, sedges and bergenia — composed the way a weaver works, in drifts of color and texture rather than rows.

The palette is drought-fluent by design. Succulents and Mediterranean foliage carry the wall on a fraction of the water a lawn would ask for, fed by a concealed drip system on a seasonal schedule.

Against the charcoal brick, the wall reads as living art — it holds its composition year-round and rewards every month with a slightly different painting.
