The Project
A dining terrace where the garden sits at the table.
At Caravan, the planting doesn't decorate the terrace — it inhabits it. Giant bird of paradise and broad-leafed alocasia rise straight out of the banquette line, so every table sits inside the garden rather than beside it.
The terrace is covered but open, which sets the brief: tropical scale that thrives in bright shade, tolerates the coastal air near the runway corridor, and never crowds a sight line to the room. Kentia palms hold the corners; the big foliage does the theater.
Under the shade canopy, woven pendants and warm striped linen keep the mood residential; the planting keeps it wild — ponytail palms in carved stone, monstera climbing the reclaimed posts, and sculptural beds carrying the green out to the street.
